TOKE-TV is a bi-weekly Public Access Television Show airing in New York City on M.N.N. and RCN cable. Also a series of specials shown on PBTV-27 on Long Island's East End (When your visitin your peeps in Riverhead)
It is produced by The Underground Church of the Most High in association with Down To Tha Last Roach Productions. For those of you who are not from the NYC area, Down 2 Tha Last Roach Productions is Broadcast Video Productions (Producers of EPK's and Corporate Videos') and Blunted Video Productions (Producers of Hip-Hop related content, from all day press days to behind the scenes video shoots to individual interviews and performances)
For 9+ years Down2 produced a Hip-Hop and Ganja TV show called IndieSent Exposure. During that time we shared communion with many many hip-hop performers. 8Off the Assassin showed us his Blue Cube Hydro before sharing it with Brother John and Shampoo for the IndieSent audience.Big Pun (Jab Bless, R.I.P.) on the other hand shared some of his Green Cube Hydro w/Brother John and Prospect before a full day of interviews! In fact, many stars didn't mind sharing communion on camera. Even those who didn't know they were sharing communion and were merely ingesting an intoxicant.One of our favorite snapshots in time is the passing of the Blunt from Diggety Das Efx to Brother John, the universal symbol of brotherhood now connected by a blunt!
And we smoked with the best! Cappadonna brought his own blunts but shared them with Brother John and in turned shared his spliffs. Digital Underground's ganja soaked interview is still talked about! Sadat X, Yo-Yo, Lin Que, Deadly Venoms, Wu-Renegades, Treach, and MANY MANY more! And who can forget the 1st sit down interview with the Boot Camp Clik, Smif and Wessun, Heltah Skeltah, & OGC sat on a couch and rolled up the chocolate thai while Brother John rolled some original Chronic and the third eye was discussed in EARNEST! (The picture to the left is a small slice of that infamous day)
Well, about '99 there were SO MANY Hip-Hop shows that the market seemed flooded. Around that time we switched from a once a year Countdown to the Ganja Fest, to a series of specials, Countdown to the Millenium Marijuana March, the Million Marijuana March, a review of the event and a 2part Special on the future of the march!
In 2000 we started producing TOKE-TV and it shared a once a month slot on the Grand Finale's time slot! During that time we interviewed Marc Emery and Dana Larsen from Marc Emery Direct Marijuana Seeds and Cannabis Culture respectivly. We were invited back to cover their Cannabis Culture Cannabis Cup, soon after changed to the Tokers Bowl and opened to the public. In 2001 we interviewed Soma from Soma Seeds and covered the Cannabis Cup for TOKE-TV. In 2002 we did the same, We reported on the CDA election in Amsterdam and ran several NY Election specials! and in Jan. 2003 we interviewed Adam from THSeeds.and in June 2003 we will be interviewing EVERYBODY from Mila to the man on the street and everyone in between! The political and socioeconomic ramifications and the TRUTH will be explored in depth!
In Summer 2003 watch for TOKE-TV to have its own weekly slot, its own listing in MNN and a new direction!
